Shiver

It’s been a “few” months ^^; I’ve been busy, haven’t even had time for DannyChoo.com… I have been working hard for my AP Studio Art portfolio, painting etc which I may be posting a few in the future as I improve.

Shiver is an 8 page short comic I’m working on for my storyboarding entry in Scholastics Art Competition. It is based on the mood I felt while listening to Coldplay’s song of the same name.

The story is still being developed but the dialogue I know will be kept to a minimum. My inspiration for this comic came from Ashley Wood, and some amazing work from a SCAD students work.

Gundam Astraea Sketch

Was bored tonight, with nothing to do. -_-; So I decided to sketch one of the coolest designs I’ve seen from Gundam in a while… Astraea.

Don’t mind the coloring, I didnt plan on even painting it tonight, so I was just seeing how it’d look. (wasn’t really paying attention to light source, caution stickers half assed etc)

OK! Enough excuses, here’s what I have so far. I’ll probably finish the rest of the lineart tomorrow, and hopefully start really coloring it later this weekend.

I’m not gonna write you a love post!

It’s been way too long since my last post! Life probably won’t clear up until summer, so scattered posts are imminent.

You may be wondering about the post title ^^ I got my ticket to see the wonderful Sara Bareilles next week, and I’m very excited! While pretty much everyone I know loves Sara, there’s plenty of people who just oppose popular singers / bands… I personally love her ^^; The video down below is a good example of how we can’t judge by just one song.

Do fellow otaku go to concerts often? This is my first concert, not too big of a venue, but it should be very fun.

For those living under a rock, here’s a nice song by her.

RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [HAZEL II]

Sorry about the break, I’ve been juggling between Final Fantasy Crisis Core and my Gundam ^^;

This is the first gundam (also the first 1/144 HGUC I’ve ordered) that I’ve completely painted, and I’m happy with the colors that I mixed…they came out better than I thought. I do really need to work on my air brushing, and patience – finger prints all over, splatters etc. Mostly I was going for the lighter and more unsaturated hues. For replacing the yellow I used Tamiya Medium Grey.

I was going for the Gundam Fix Figuration look with all the decals, now I gotta do the panel lines ^^

Delicious Orange

Some artwork I did for my friend’s band Delicious Orange. They’re from Finland, and started as a Pillows cover band, however they’re pulling off into doing their own original music now.

Sooner or later I’ll be drawing the rest of them, but I ended up drawing TMNT’s Leonardo, my favorite turtle. ^^

Finally! Wendy Wendy Wendy!

I haven’t blogged this figure since it came the other day, but I’m really happy with it!

I’ve seen enough pictures of her to be convinced a while back that she’d be a great addition to my slowly growing collection. I just waited and waited until I found her for a good deal, and what a great deal it was!

She was on sale at BBTS for sometime before being sold out. A $25 dollar bargain.

In the end, with this being my first Max Factory purchase, I’m pretty satisfied. For a review, check out DannyChoo and HappySoda.

An Homage to the Rocketeer.

It has been such a long time since I’ve seen this drawing. It’s honestly one of my favorites, and also one of the first where I’ve used this style. I guess you could say I’ve developed the style from this.

About the Rocketeer, I know barely anything except he’s a stuntman with a Jetpack. However I do have a softspot for old superhero shows, and I’ve always liked his outfit…it’s so retro!
